Various members of the North Carolina Softball League travel annually to LGBTQA tournaments up and down the east coast after our own spring season is completed. Two tournaments that league members played in in 2016 were Philadelphia’s Liberty Bell Classic and Washington, DC’s MAGIC Tournament. We were well-represented by the Raleigh Ru’s in C tournament play in both tourneys, and joined by a D-bracket team, the Oak City Sallies, in DC, as well as a women’s team in Philly. The North Carolina Softball League tentatively plans to host our own tournament in 2018, inviting teams we’ve met in various cities to join us in the fun. Details are just beginning to be worked out, but we are optimistic that we will be able to get a tournament off the ground and make it a success!
